For a small state – 227,600 square kilometres, roughly the size of the British Isles – Victoria packs in a lot of interesting stuff. From the rainforests of East Gippsland and Yarra Ranges close to Melbourne to the rolling peaks of the Victorian Alps and the jagged Grampians range, there is plenty of places to explore. And that’s not to mention hundreds of kilometres of coastline that includes the expanse of 90-mile beach, bushwalkers’ favourite Wilsons Promontory and the iconic cliffs and coves of the Great Ocean Road.
The state’s countryside is also very picturesque and the capital Melbourne is known for its European charm (and excellent coffee).
